DCL (District Co-ordination & Liaison Office) Etzion
DCL Etzion which is in the Bethlehem region is one
of eight District Co-ordination, Liaison Offices in the
west bank.
The DCL (District Co-ordination, Liaison Offices) is the
administrative center of the Israeli occupation
authorities.
Its role is to administer and control, by means of
issuing or not issuing permits, every aspect of their
daily routine of life.
The DCL is presumably responsible for issuing permits
for entry into Israel, permits allowing movement
throughout the west bank, permits issued for vehicle,
permits for work and most other permits.
It works in co-operation with the Shabak (General
Security Services).
A Palestinian who gets Shabak approval then 'qualifies'
to receive a magnetic card, which then allows him to
receive other permits.
The majority of the Palestinian population does not
receive permits. |
